Despite a love of architecture and design for as long as he remembers, native Californian Scott Lander first chose a career as a chiropractor. Scott attended California State University, Northridge for his undergraduate degree and obtained his DC from Cleveland Chiropractic College in Los Angeles. After becoming a licensed real estate agent, Scott began buying and restoring architectural and historic homes. His passion for design integrity and historic preservation pushed him toward grand homes, regional vernacular design, modern masterpieces, and those neglected over time but retained key elements of original craftsmanship, character, architecture, and history.

In 2010, Scott won the Santa Monica Conservancy Preservation Award for the restoration of the Richard Neutra-designed Leon Barsha residence which had been deemed a tear-down prior to Scott’s stewardship. In 2012, Scott was awarded the Historic Preservation award from the City of Pasadena for the restoration of Buff & Hensman-designed Thompson residence. Scott has restored or represented some of the most-notable properties in Southern California. His CV includes works by Richard Neutra, Rudolph Schindler, Richard Dorman, John Lautner, Wallace Neff, Harwell Hamilton Harris, Gregory Ain, and Raphael Soriano.

Scott has made his personal mission to correct the perception of Los Angeles as a city void of architecture, history, character, and heart.
